Future Plans
Our school has been in operation since 2004 & started with a Preschool and a Kindergarten program. Each year we have added new grades. This year we have added Grade 6 and a combination of F.C.S Arabic Independent school program for 7,8,9 & 10 grades. Within the next couple of years we plan to move to a new state-of-the-art campus on the grounds of Masjid Bilal located on Sibley Street in Folsom, California.
We are in the process this year of expanding our guest speaker program to bring additional community resources into the class rooms. We have also expanded our class field trips so that the children can have more experience in the larger Sacramento area with its rich history, cultural opportunities and technological enterprises. Parent participation and involvement are keys to the success of these programs. We appreciate the many hours volunteers have selflessly dedicated to the building of our school. We have expanded our staff development and in-service training opportunities for all our employees. Staff have worked together to improve the internal functioning of our programs and analyzed our operation to make sure that we are making progress toward the lofty goals set in our mission statement. It is our objective to build a strong professional staff that maintains an unwavering commitment to the development and expansion of our programs.
With the completion of the Elementary Program we are committed to the support of an accessible secondary program that will make Folsom attractive to Muslim families who desire to live in an area with resources that support their efforts to raise the leaders of tomorrow who are religiously and academically prepared to meet the challenges of living and working in a diverse society.
Admissions Procedure
Admission to our programs is by application. Each parent and child is interviewed before they are accepted into the program. A prospective student may be invited to visit for a day to try out the program. A formal application must be filled out and evaluated by the School Administration prior to admission. Each year parents pay a non-refundable fee that covers partial cost of the school materials. There is a 20% discount for each additional child in the family. In order to keep our fees low, we rely on generous contributions, volunteers and fund raising activities.
Student Expectations
It is our belief that parents who enroll their children in Folsom Crescent School do so because they are committed to ensuring that their children receive the finest academic education within an Islamic environment. To that end, we expect that our students are dedicated to working to their capacity in the entire subject areas offered in the school. We expect that the parents will work with each of the child’s teachers to that end. This means that parents and children make sure that students arrive on time with all their homework completed, ready to participate in the activities of the school day. We expect to resolve any academic, discipline or other issues at the earliest possible time, so that there are no distractions from our goal of maximizing learning. It is our goal to train students to love learning, desire to seek knowledge and attain the professional training that will enable them to become leaders in their chosen fields. This process starts at the elementary level with an unwavering focus on learning in a positive, exciting and creative environment.
School Rules
In order to maintain our focus on a positive Islamic learning environment, we have developed the following school rules that are used in each of our classes. To; Listen, Be Polite, Follow Directions, Be Clean, And Learn!!!!!!!! To teach modesty, humility and equality among all students, we have a mandatory school uniform policy for all grades.
