Masjid Bilal
Islamic Society of Folsom
The Islamic Society of Folsom was formed in 1992 to meet the needs of a small but growing community of Muslims in East Sacramento. We started from very humble beginings and initial facilities consisted of a local home where a handful of Muslims offered Juma salaat and Taraweh prayers. Alhamdulliah, from these small beginnings, the congregation has now grown and over 300 people now offer Juma Salat.
ISF serves the muslim population in Roseville, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Orangevale, Rancho Cordova and outlying foot hill communities. Over 2,000 Muslim families live in this area. Most are young families with small children.
We serve a large, ethnically diverse Muslim population including people from: Arabia, Africa, South-East Asia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Middle East. Before ISF masjid in Folsom, the only facilities for Muslims to offer prayers were in mid-town Sacramento, 30 miles away. Even today, ISF is the only masjid in the 120 mile stretch from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe.
As our community has grown, so have our services to the community. To serve the needs of the young muslims and muslimahs, we offer the Nazira program, Sunday School, a full-time Hifz program, and a full time Islamic Elementary School. We are blessed with a full-time Imaam. The masjid is open for 5 daily prayers as well as Juma and Taraweeh prayers.
